Adoption
Adopt a rat
Rats are extremely intelligent
They make great companion animals as they’re clean, active and often really enjoy human company.
However, their needs are complex and having happy and content rats requires research, time and commitment.
Why we say ‘Adopt don’t Shop’
Rats in pet shops are bred in bad conditions, meaning their health is often poor, temperaments can be unpredictable and you’re funding highly unethical mass breeding.
Rescues all over the UK are struggling with unwanted animals. Why add to the problem of overpopulation when there are so many lovely rats waiting for their forever homes in foster care?
Pet shops get their rats from highly unethical rodent mills which are horrible places. Vote with your money and don’t support it!
Give the many unwanted or abandoned rat a second chance at a good life.
We will be in touch to provide you with support and guidance throughout your rat’s whole life.
Know the rat before adopting. We will pair you up with a rat which is right for you based on their personality.

How do I provide a great rat home?
Rats are highly intelligent and active. The larger, the better for their cage. They love it crammed full of toys, obstacles, tunnels, hammocks and chews. Take a look on our rat care page below for inspiration, advice and tips. Here are our three top tips:
Rats need rat friends! Never keep a single rat
Specialist healthcare – access to exotics vet and correct diet
Stimulation and fun – Free roam time out of cage and lots of activities
